SYNOPSIS

In “Tzorro vs. El Covidado – The Grand Finale”, the character of Tzorro (“Zorro with a T”) faces off against a wicked enemy named El Covidado, who roams the world spreading a contagious disease with seemingly no cure. In the episode, El Covidado kidnaps a young girl (Eris) to make her his servant. Tzorro, a hero who fights for the weak, comes to rescue the damsel in distress.
After an initial battle where Tzorro seems to be defeated, the hero rises again to fight and ultimately defeats the villain once and for all, freeing Eris from her captor and the entire world from the threat
of the terrible plague.

DIRECTOR’S NOTES

The short film is both a tribute to and a parody of the Zorro-style western genre. The story draws inspiration from the Disney adventures (Guy Williams, 1957) of the famous masked hero — in this version, with an added “T” for distinction.
Tzorro is the spiritual and conceptual sequel to Dracovid, our previous film project (2022). With this short, the circle is completed: while Dracovid absurdly imagined the vampiric origins of the Covid-19 virus, Tzorro envisions its end — by swordfight.
Tzorro vs. El Covidado is rich with deliberately retro colors and sounds, echoing the light, rock-infused cinema of the 1970s.The film space is repeatedly interrupted and introduced by fictional TV network logos and commercials for an imaginary antiviral drug called COVITZOR, of which Tzorro is the spokesperson on behalf of the pharmaceutical company Delavega.
The narrative becomes a hybrid between telenovela, film, and music video, with commercial break-style interferences mimicking TV channel surfing — all mixed energetically and humorously in a pop-psychedelic kaleidoscope blending the banal with the absurd.
